ME:

Working from my studio in the west coast of Ireland I am constantly inspired by shapes which merge from one into another with such fluidity - like fish into leaves, to the ribs in the hull of a boat. Everything is interconnected. It’s what the shamans call shape-shifting. And when I see a cormorant taking flight, a hare jumping tentatively through dewy grass, or the ripples on the water as the first salmon heads upstream to spawn - my mind is already lost in my studio, my hands bringing it to life in the clay.

MY WORK:

Sculptural and functional ceramics, inspired by the natural world. I use stoneware clay, oxides and matt glazes, firing at 1260 degrees. I mostly use the coil or slab technique, which makes each piece truly unique, individual and full of character.
